Our Biblical Philosophy
High Point Baptist Church is a fundamental (Jude 3) independent (Acts 14:23) Baptist Church. The church recognizes its' responsibility of Evangelism, Enlistment and Education and Edification as it, seeks to carry out the great Commission given by our Lord (Matt. 28:18-20). It also recognizes its responsibility to continually present the Word of God (Rom. 10:17 & I Tim. 3:15) in every phase of its ministry.
It is the responsibility of the pastor to feed the flock of God (I Pet. 5:2 and Acts 6:2-4) by emphasizing the preaching of the Word of God (I Tim. 4:2 and Eph. 4:11-12) from the pulpit and in stated services and on special occasions.
It is the responsibility of members to be active in the work of the ministry. (Eph. 4:14-16; II Pet. 2:5-9) and supportive of the pastor (Heb. 13:7,17)
High Point recognizes that the church and the home are God's two appointed New Testament organizations. Therefore, it is important that we seek the Biblical pattern of under girding, developing and supporting Christ-centered homes. The relationship between the church and the home is emphasized in God's Word (Eph. 5:23-28 and I Tim. 3:4,5,11,12). It is then also the responsibility of each family to be loyal to the local church and its' programs. (Heb. 10:25)
High Point Baptist Church recognizes the covenant relationship between God and his people in Christ; and because of this relationship, it unites the home and the church also in such a relationship for the outreach of the Gospel, and the edification of the saints of God until our great God and Savior comes again.
