        Welcome.  Our desire is to minister to you by offering information about our church and its ministries.  We believe we are living in exciting days before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

        Meeting the needs of people is what High Point is all about.  It is our goal at High Point that you will find a church where practical Bible preaching is coupled with care and concern for each individual.  We invite you to come and worship, enlist and serve the Lord through the ministries of High Point Baptist Church.  We offer you "A Ministry Place" where you may serve and be served.  Jesus said, "I came not to be ministered unto but to minister and give my life as a ransom for many."  Matthew 20:28

About Me...

        I was born the youngest of 10 children.  I was raised on a farm in upper New York State.  As a seventeen-year old I was dating a young lady who attended the Baptist church in town, and it was through this church I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and in May of 1963, I accepted Christ as my Savior.

        After high school I enlisted in the Air Force and spent 3 of my four-year enlistment in Germany.  It was while I was in Germany that God provided an off-post church for me to grow and serve in.  As I read Romans 1: 14-16, God laid on my heart that I was a debtor to American military, to provide for them a church like God provided for me where they could come to know Christ and grow in Christ and be a part of a family away from home. 

        In 1968, I began training at Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania.  I have continued on to receive my Masters Degree from Bethany Bible Seminary.

My Wife...

        Elva was born as the second child of five.  She has four brothers.  She was raised in a Christian home and at the early age of eight her daddy led her to the Lord.  She went to Christian schools and desired to be a teacher.  Elva graduated from Eastern Mennonite College and began teaching in a three-room school, teaching 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.  She had taught five years when we met and were married in June of 1970.  The Lord blessed us with four wonderful sons who are now grown and have families of their own.  Elva also enjoyed teaching adults to help them get their GED diploma and English as a Second Language to adults.

        In 1975, Elva and I were commissioned as missionaries by High Point Baptist Chapel in Geigertown, Pennsylvania to the U.S. Military in Germany and arrived in Germany in June of 1976.  It has been a great blessing to us to minister to our soldiers and their families for over twenty-five years. 

        Through these years as we have worked in the ministry, Elva has taught soldiers at the Education Center and enjoyed seeing them advance and I have been actively involved in family counseling as well as ministry areas of our church.  We believe High Point Baptist Church can be a spiritual high point for you while you are away from home and country.  We are here as your servants to show you how you may get to heaven from Vilseck and Grafenwoehr, Germany and offer you opportunities to serve the Lord.
